Sales, Service, Support and Safety. The Kydd's commitment extends beyond the sale of our watercraft, as you will find our service and support are bar none. However, one important item we cannot stress enough, is the need to operate watercraft safely and responsibly.
Below are some tips that will help you have a safe nautical experience.
- Always have enough life jackets on board for all passengers. All passengers under the age of 13 are required by law to wear U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets. Read more about the rules on the U.S.C.G. boating website.
- Regularly have the crafts safety items checked by Kydd's service team.
- Know the rules of the water, and have nautical charts and compasses accessible.
- Check the weather forecast before you go out.
- Don't venture into waters you are unfamiliar with.
- Be a considerate boater and "watch your wake".
- Boaters must not rely solely on any single aid to navigation for determining their position, particularly buoys.
- Boaters should not come close to beacons due to the danger of collision with riprap (stones/broken rocks), structure foundation, or with the obstruction/danger which the aid marks. Always maintain a safe distance from all aids to navigation.
